China's Furniture Manufacturing Industry: Total Profit Reaches 1.71 Billion Yuan Jan-Aug 2025, Down 16.7% YoY
From January to August, the total profit of China's furniture manufacturing industry reached 17.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 16.7%.
On September 27, the National Bureau of Statistics released the profit data of national large-scale industrial enterprises from January to August 2025. The data showed that compared with the positive trend of the overall industrial profits shifting from decline to growth, the furniture manufacturing industry was under obvious pressure.

In the first eight months, China's furniture manufacturing industry achieved a cumulative total profit of 17.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 16.7%. Although the decline narrowed compared with the first half of the year, it was still significantly higher than the average profit growth rate of 0.9% of national large-scale industrial enterprises. During the same period, the operating income of this industry was 403.83 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 6%.
The related wood processing industry and the manufacturing industry of wood, bamboo, rattan, palm and grass products also faced similar pressure. In the same period, the cumulative operating income of this industry was 557.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3.1%; the operating cost was 506.96 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3%; and the total profit was 15.51 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 12.4%.
